Do You Have A Higher Level Course, Professor Light?

This class helped my writing skills a lot. When I first started this class, I did not even think that I could sufficiently write five pages about any given topic, and I ended with writing a nine page research paper (sorry Professor Light, I hope you don’t dock too many points off for going a page over).

However, I would say that English 100 helped my skills a little more, perhaps because I got better grades on my papers, but I don’t know. I think that I got more out of the first class. This is not a slight against Professor Light, because I had her for my ENG100 class too, and the first class’s curriculum was not as condensed. But, in this class, I refined my skills on being able to put sources into a paper/report/essay format. I feel that my grammar skills have generally improved, in the sense that my rough drafts don’t have as many grammatical errors; same for punctuation and general formatting of papers, too.

I do kind of wish we got to do the whole Google slides project on the paper like we did in English 100, because I had fun with putting memes in for half of my slides. Despite that, this course, in the infinite amount of time we had 😊, was actually more enjoyable than English 100, insofar as I enjoyed the topic more. Plus, I got to write a paper on one of my favorite, if not my favorite, series of all time, Avatar: The Last Airbender. That last sentence probably shows the writing skills I have yet to develop.

I would appreciate it if you would answer the titular question, Professor Light.

  1. I totally understand your points, Justin. It was a very condensed course and schedule. So far, I have not taught any classes above ENG 200, but that would be a good remark for your SET evaluation. 🙂 I would love to in the future, especially something to do with literature (both of my English degrees are in lit) or creative nonfiction (you know how I love my blog writing!).
